15.07.2008 The Zelena Akcija (Green Action) condemned the adoption of the Draft Law that proposes reducing the area of Medvednica protected landscape, at the Government session of July 10, 2008.

28.02.2008 The Eko Misija Environmental Association believes that, ever since it was established in mid-1970s, little has been done to truly protect the Vodno Forest-Park. Quite the opposite, Vodno is under constant attack, not the least by urban development efforts that make steady progress into the protected area and degrade the natural environment.

10.01.2008 The Cantonal Ministry of Spatial Planning and Environmental Protection declared the first degree of alert for emergency situation because of the rising air pollution levels in Sarajevo, caused by the morning and evening fog which assists the pollution to remain in the valley of Sarajevo. The weather is stabilizing, in fact, that could contribute to rising concentration of air pollution.

18.09.2006 On the occasion of the International Day for Protection of Ozone Layer, and under the We Have no Spare Planet, OHO non-governmental organization promoted a picture book and an animated film for children. Ozzie Ozone – Guardian of the Planet aims to educate the children, simply and effectively, on the need to protect the ozone layer.

23.06.2006 Udruženje za zaštitu okoliša “Lisica” iz Dolnog Lisice zatražila je ispriku od Ministra zaštite okoliša Zorana Sapurica i optužilo Ministarstvo za grubo nepoštivanje interesa građana i nedjelovanje u više slučajeva onečišćenja okoliša koja su se desila u prošlih nekoliko tjedana.

23.06.2006 The “Lisica” Environmental Association from Dolno Lisice demanded apology from Minister of Environmental Protection Zoran Sapuric and accused the Ministry of gross neglect of the interests of citizens and inaction in several cases of release of pollutants into the environment that took place over the past several weeks.

Under the cover of the night, the Still Mill of the “Mak Steel” Metalurgy Corporation releases into the air iron dust, hazardous materials and malodorous gasses, charge the citizens of “Zelezara”, who started a petition with complaints, submitted to the Office of the Mayor of Gazi Baba Municipality.

20.10.2005 The Green Society from Elbasan started an action for expansion of green areas and parks in the City, following the campaign to raise public awareness about the need to install air filters in Elbasan’s industrial zone.

04.10.2005 Slijedećeg će ljeta klima uređaji iz mnogih prostorija biti zamijenjeni već zaboravljenim ventilatorima. Naime, Vlada RH na sjednici, u petak, 30. rujna, usvojila je Uredbu o tvarima koje onečišćuju ozonski sloj.

29.09.2005 Representatives and specialists of “Ekolevizja”, a group of environmental NGOs visited Elbasan on September 22, 2005. They met with the Mayor of Elbasan, Ardian Turku, the Rector Jani Dode and the Dean Ziso Themollari from the “Alexander Xhuvani” University. The main purpose of the meeting was to create new collaboration paths with the local government and to provide for the future sustainability of the civil society.

28.09.2005 Lufter Xhuveli, Minister of Environment, Forestry and Water Management, took part in the Car Free Day activities in Shkodra September 22. The Municipality of Shkodra collaborated with OSCE office, with the goal to promote action towards environment protection.

29.08.2005 Kurum Steel Mills still haven’t installed the required dust arresting filters, in spite of the fact that two deadlines (June 30 and August 14, 2005) have expired. The 3.5 million Euros investment has been postponed for the second half of September, at the earliest.
