With a huge majority, only one vote against and one abstaining vote, the Croatian Sabor (the Parliament) adopted the Law on Prevention of Discrimination that was the target of strong dissent and protests by the Catholic Church and other religious communities in Croatia, as well as some conservative NGOs.

The Zelena Istra environmental association accused the municipal authorities in Pula, Istria, of lack of understanding and resistance to greater inclusion of citizens in the setting of social and spatial priorities of use of space when preparing the General Urban Plan that will soon be submitted for adoption by the City Council.

The Organizing Committee of Zagreb Pride 2008 condemned the attacks on gay activists Kristijan Grđana and Sanja Juras and three participants who came to the Pride from Kosovo, expressing their full solidarity and support for the victims.

On the occasion of the sanctions of Croatian Football Association (HNS) because of the racist and xenophobic incidents involving some Croatian fans during the recently completed European Championship, the Centre for Peace Studies (CMS) said that HNS should do more, since it has the power and responsibility for such an action.

A group of gay internet users noted that the Croatian internet space lacks a common starting point for homosexual men and women, bisexual, trans-gender and queer persons to get information and to get active, so they decided to launch a new internet portal to mark the Pride Week in Zagreb.

Zelena Akcija (Green Action) environmental organization reacted to the announced cooperation of Cardinal Bozanić and Mayor Milan Bandic, on five different projects. Zelena Akcija focused on two of the projects – plans to build 2,500 apartments in developments in Strug on Žitnjak and the proposed Museum of Sacral Art in Nova Vesa.
