AIDS - Don't Ignore It
Twenty years after the first clinical diagnosis that confirmed that existence of the "acquired immune-deficiency syndrome" AIDS became on of the most dangerous diseases that humanity ever faced. Since the start of the epidemic, over 60 million people have been infected with the HIV, and HIV/AIDS have spread around to the effect that it became the leading cause of death in sub-Saharan Africa. The Macedonian Harm Reduction Network (MHRN) claims that the Draft-Law on Control of Narcotics and Precursors is seriously defective and is opposed to the National Counternarcotics Strategy of December 2006 and the Constitution.

The Legal team of Iskorak and Kontra associations demanded from Nenad Ljubicic, Minister of Health, to remove the provision in the Rulebook on Blood and Blood Serum that permanently eliminates homosexual persons from the possibility to donate blood and to replace the term homosexuals with the phrase “people with risky sexual behaviour”.

With the aim to strengthen the fight against HIV/AIDS on the internet, the Iskorak Centre for Rights of Sexual and Gender Minorities established the AIDS.HR internet portal. Having in mind the general population in Croatia, the contents were adapted for average citizens, teen-agers, and other uneducated persons with proclivities towards risky behaviour.
