The Voluntary Service Overseas VSO seeks a Coordination Partner for Bosnia and Herzegovina, organization that will assist in the implementation of the B&H programme for charity action. The goal of the programme is to correct the existing misbalance between the demand and supply of volunteers in the social and non-state sectors.
The Programme includes:

Exchange of information on initiatives for charity work in the Balkans

Capacity building for organizations that use volunteer work through charity work management courses
-
Support for local charity projects
-
assistance in building infrastructure of local charity work
The Coordination Partner Organization has to meet the following criteria:
Obligatory

It has to be local organization, headquartered in B&H;

To demonstrate interest and have experience in engaging local volunteers;

To demonstrate that it possesses organization/personnel capacities;

The appointed officer should posses excellent knowledge of written and spoken English;

To demonstrate that it has knowledge and good relationships with non-state actors/organizations, the work of which is based on local communities all over the country, with the added demand that some organizations are based in the rural areas of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Optional but highly encouraged

The organization have to maintain a well establish relationship with the state/statutory sector, especially with Social Work Centres.
The deadline for applications is April 30, 2005. The selected candidates will be informed by e-mail by May 15, 2005.
The interviews and the selection board meetings will be held in Sarajevo, at the end of May 2005.
