Youth Resource Centre Opened in Prijedor

The new Youth Resource Centre was officially opened in Prijedor yesterday. The Centre will provide the youth with a gathering place, a facility in which they can realize their ideas through actual projects, win support and education in a variety of fields, get information and entertainment.
Rajko Macura, the Director of the Svjetionik Youth Centre, Ljiljana Babic from the Office of the Mayor, Christina Bertoti from the Programme Prijedor Association, Patrizia Bugna from the LDA and Audra Zeravcic from UMCOR, greeted the opening of the centre established through their joint initiative and effort. They emphasized the great importance of the Youth Resource Centre, and stated that this is a huge step ahead and an opportunity for the youth to use the centre to join a variety of activities, thus contributing to a better and improved life of the youth population in Prijedor. Through the Centre, the youth population could work through four programmes: the InfoPoint programme that offers information databases, logistic assistance to the youth, but also to the private and NGO sectors; Economic, social and education programme; programme for promotion of civil society; and, cultural and sports programme. The Centre will be managed by the Svjetionik Youth Centre and the “Crno-Bijeli Svijet” informal group. The programming aspects will be put in the hands of a programming council, with seating members from the youth organizations involved in the NGO Coalition from the Prijedor Municipality. |
