MSU Considers Prime Minister’s Meeting with Students Campaign Propaganda

The “Macedonian Student Union-MSU” came out with public statement today, to react to the meeting that Prime Minister Vlado Buckovski held with the representatives of the Students Union at the “Sv. Kiril i Metodij” University (SSUKM) and the State Student Centre.

MSU believes that the meeting, held yesterday, was nothing more than an old campaign trick aimed at winning over the student votes and that the Government had no wish, nor interest to build a new dormitory. The Union emphasizes that such promises sound hollow, especially coming from a Prime Minister who did nothing, over the past four years, to improve the student standards of living.

MSU also reprimanded Aleksandar Davcevski, SSUKM President, who promoted and supported the thesis that the Government is serious about building a new dormitory, instead of presenting the problems of the student population to Buckovski and asking him why he didn’t do anything to improve the standards of living of Macedonian students. MSU questions Davcevski credibility as a student leader, having in mind that only eight percent of them voted for him in the student elections.

At the same time, MSU called on all students to go to the polls en masse and vote the people that didn’t move a finger to improve their lives out of office.
