Competition for Lecturers in the Youth at the Labour Market Series

The DIM Association for Civic Education and Social Development opened a public competition for a part-time lecturer for the Youth in the Labour Market series of lectures, to be held in secondary schools in Zagreb, during the academic year 2006/2007. The lectures are part of the "Youth in the Labour Market – Informal Education of Youth on Implementation and Protection of their Social Rights". The competition is open for applications until June 31, 2006.

The job includes the following tasks: (1) holding of interactive lectures, in accordance to plans prepared in advance, in the final years of secondary schools, on the topic of human rights, with an emphasis on labour and social rights – each lecture shall be 45 minutes long; (2) the selected candidate will participate, on mandatory basis, in the preparatory courses in August 2006, and will participate in regular meetings with the team of lecturers; (3) the candidates will be obligated to follow the agreed methods of preparation and presentation of lectures, contents (promoting the values that form the base of DIM activities), and reporting; (4) the actual schedule of the lectures will be agreed between DIM and Zagreb secondary schools, the terms will be reported to the lecturers in a timely fashion; (5) Lecturers will be compensated with just honoraria.

Application requirements: (1) candidates should be between 22 and 33 years of age; (2) Preference shall be given to students in their final year of studes at the Faculty of Law, Faculty of Political Sciences, Faculty of Philosophy and Faculty of Economy, or active member or employee of the Croatian trade unions; (3) The candidates should have a basic knowledge of human rights, with emphasis on labour and social rights, knowledge about Law on Employment, as well as the relevant documents and legal acts; (4) high school diploma or university degree; (5) good communication skills; (6) Responsibility; (7) Creativity; (8) Organization; (9) Ability to work in a team; (10) Persistence; (11) Flexibility; (12) Completed Application Form (submitted with a CV attached).

Only the candidates that fulfil all requirements will be informed about the results of the competition.
