Natasa Kandic Will Address Inaugural UNHRC
Natasa Kandic, Executive Director of the Humanitarian Law Centre from Belgrade, was invited to address the inaugural session of the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC), to be held today in Geneva, Switzerland.
Kandic is one of the five persons selected to address the first session of the UNHRC, on the behalf of the non-governmental organizations from the whole world.
UNHRC was established on the basis of the UN General Assembly Resolution of March 15, 2006, on the need to establish a new human rights body. The Resolution is a result of a longer process of reforms of the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (UNHCHR).
