LDP Should Not Nominate Sapuric for Office
The “Lisica” Environmental Association from Dolno Lisice demanded apology from Minister of Environmental Protection Zoran Sapuric and accused the Ministry of gross neglect of the interests of citizens and inaction in several cases of release of pollutants into the environment that took place over the past several weeks.

“Lisica” accuses Sapuric over the silence of the Ministry in the case of release of large quantities of SO2 (sulfurous dioxide) by the “USJE” Cement Factory, when municipal environmental inspectors measured levels of SO2 four times higher than allowed.
The association claims that such high levels of SO2 in the atmosphere could result from the use of old automobile tires as fuel in the furnaces of “USJE”, a practice that was explicitly banned last year by Ministry’s decision.
“Minister Sapuric said last year that there is no way for such incident to repeat in the future, and yet, we find our selves in the same situation”, says Snezana Milkovska from “Lisica”.
According to Milkovska, the Ministry neglects and disregards the interests of the very citizens that delegated to it the powers it has, only to protect the business interests of Ministers colleagues in the Government.
She demanded explanation and information from the Ministry on the recent attempt to import radioactive iron ore from Serbia for the needs of “Mak-Steel”, company owned by Minco Jordanov, Vice-President of the Government.
“Nobody in Skopje and Macedonia should be exposed to radiation, even if it may damage Jordanov’s interests”, says “Lisica”.
Finally, because of his incompetence and the ignorant treatment of the public and the citizens, “Lisica” demands from the Liberal-Democratic Party (LDP) to pledge publicly that, should it gets into position to form a new Government cabinet, or participate in the cabinet, it won’t nominate Zoran Sapuric for any position or office that carries important competences and responsibility.
