Grant Competition for Projects in Prilep, Veles, Stip and Kicevo

The NGO Support Centres in Prilep, Veles, Stip and Kicevo will allocate grants in support for projects by NGOs fro the four cities, directed at local community development through active citizen participation in creation of public policies.

Priority shall be given to projects submitted by NGO networks and coalitions. All active NGOs from Prilep, Veles, Stip and Kicevo shall be eligible to participate in the competition, with one project each. NGO teams charged with implementation of projects should preserve the equal gender representation, and the projects should pay attention to the needs of various ethnic communities.

The maximum amount allocated shall not exceed 3,000 EUR. The approved projects should secure additional funding of no less than 20% of the total project budget. Short-term interventions with concrete and visible results in the local community will be supported. The aims of the project proposals should comply to the mission and goals of applicant organizations. The project activities should be implemented in the period between September 1 and November 30, 2006.

Necessary documentation:

Grant Application Form, completed electronically (Obrazec za institucii i organizacii, available at www.ngocenters.org.mk);
Copy of Official Registration for all associations involved in the project;
List of past implemented projects, including advocacy and lobbying projects, or projects implemented in partnership with other organizations;
Annual working programme;
Written proof of partnership, including distribution of activities and responsibilities of partners in the project.

Applications with incomplete documentation shall not be taken in consideration.

The deadline for application expires on July 20, 2006.

The list of accepted projects will be posted at the NGO Support Centers in Veles, Prilep, Stip and Kicevo in August 2006.
