|
The protests organized yesterday by Animal Liberation association, on the occasion of October 10, the International Day of Fight against McDonalds, gathered about 50 activists that wanted to speak out to the citizens that they have had enough with the torture conducted by McDonald’s and other exploiters of people and animals.
In addition to banners, masks, drums and whistles, activists distributed promotional material to attract the citizens’ attention to all the bad things connected to McDonald’s and called the citizens to join a boycott of the franchise and its products. The protests were joined by the activists of “Shac Croatia” and the Food Not Bombs Collective. A great majority of citizens supported the protests against the global fast-food chain which, according to Animal Liberation, presents the worst example of industry that cares only about profits, exploitation and expansion. McDonald's is a multinational corporation responsible of torture and killing of millions of animals for their meat; environmental polution; exploitation of children and workers (attempts to establish trade union is severely punished, workers are asked to do all jobs, low wages); manipulation of consumers to whom unhealthy food is sold, proven to be harmful to human health, say the activists of the association. Therefor, Animal Liberation invites all citizens to join them in the fight against the institutions and people in power who abuse their power to dominate our lives and the planet, and participate in the creation of better society, without exploitation of nature, animals and people. "Talk to your family and friends about the damages caused by companies such as McDonald's! Boycott McDonald's!" |
