Dosta: Stop Plundering of B&H Natural Heritage

Next Saturday, the activists of the Dosta! movement, together with activists of environmental organizations will organize signing of a petition against construction of dams on Upper Neretva, under the auspices of the “The Battle for Neretva” campaign. The construction, according to the campaign initiative, threatens to devastate area of extremely high value.

"We started the signing process at the end of October and we have already collected a significant number of signatures. We invite all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina to join us on Saturday, in front of the Faculty of Economy in Sarajevo, and support our struggle against the united thieves, criminals and speculators that use the services of corrupt and incompetent politicians to plunder the most beautiful of our natural treasures”, say representatives of Dosta! Movement.

They add that they don’t buy the story sold to the citizens about alleged profitability of investment and employment, since everybody knows that such facilities employ very few people.

"They lie to the people for they lack the courage and guts to tell them that they destroyed the companies the citizens worked in and offer them employment at the expense of the natural heritage. What’s the use of employment if we are forced to spend hundreds of Marks on potable water, which is increasingly scarce in B&H”, asks the movement and announced that the petition is only a part of the legal struggle against devastation of natural beauty.

Dosta! invites the citizens to stop just watching silently and join their protests. Next week, the signing point moves to Ilidza. Dosta! plans to go through other municipalities. The signing of petitions and other forms of struggle against the dams will continue until the thieves and mobsters give up on their criminal intentions.

This is just the start of the joint front of over 30 organizations and associations. All citizens interested to take active participation in the fight to save Neretva and our dignity as human beings, can contact Dosta! at zeleni.n@bih.net.ba, and dostaaa@hotmail.com.
