Debate on Waste Separation and Recycling

Green Home environmental NGO organizes a public debate on the topic Waste Separation and Recycling, with emphasis on the issue of future implementation of recycling process in the municipality of Podgorica. The debate will take place tomorrow, Wednesday, November 8, 2006, at the offices of the PR Centre in Podgorica (Hercegovacka St. 49/II), at 19:00 hours.

The featured speaker of the debate will be professor Petar Zivkovic, School of Metallurgy and Technology, Montenegro University.

Green Home invites all interested citizens to take part in the debate, having in mind the fact that the problem of waste disposal and treatment turns into a big environmental, health and cultural problem for Podgorica.

The debate will present and review the technological processes of recycling, the importance of recycling for the environment and the economy, as well as possibilities for implementation of recycling practices in Podgorica.

The debate will be used as an opportunity for the citizens to gain more information on recycling processes, and to present their own views and opinions on the issue of waste management and propose solutions.

The debate is organized under the auspices of the Recycling and its Economic Benefits project, which aims to educate the school-age population in Podgorica in the area of environmental protection, recycling, environmental and economic benefits of recycling and promotion of positive experiences in other cities and countries.

The project is supported by Podgorica Municipal Council, under a public funding competition for NGOs.
