Role of Municipality in Improved Standards of Living of Citizens

In order to contribute to strengthening of public administration’s capacities to solve priority problems of all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Agency of Local Development Initiatives ALDI published its report Improvement of Living Standards in B&H: How Important is the Efficient Organization of Municipalities?
The report was prepared under the auspices of the “New Role for NGOs in Preparation and Design of Public Policies”, implemented with the financial support of the European Commission. The study presents a proposal for improved living standards of citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina through establishment of efficient local self-government administration that would work on expedient and efficient implementation of government’s economic and social development policies. The report pays special attention to the mass civil society initiative started under the GROZD movement, which has lead to a consensus among the citizens on priority socio-economic moves of the government at all levels. The recommendations listed in the Report include the views on possible contributions that local administration can make towards the achievement of goals presented by GROZD.
