AIDS.HR Portal Launched

With the aim to strengthen the fight against HIV/AIDS on the internet, the Iskorak Centre for Rights of Sexual and Gender Minorities established the AIDS.HR internet portal. Having in mind the general population in Croatia, the contents were adapted for average citizens, teen-agers, and other uneducated persons with proclivities towards risky behaviour.

The web-site offers summarized information and basic facts on HIV/AIDS and prevention and treatment. AIDS.hr also reaches deeper into the subject and offers information on other sexually transmitted diseases, common myths and wrong assumptions, stigmatization and discrimination of HIV carriers, the marking of December 1, the World AIDS Day, access to additional information and locations of AIDS test centres.

AIDS.hr will follow the latest developments related to HIV/AIDS, current activities and latest scientific news on HIV/AIDS in Croatia and the world. The page offers a possibility to all organizations to secure visibility and publication of their activities.

Iskorak�s healthcare team has worked, for quite some time, to improve the sexual health of its target population. It has acquired a lot of experience, leading to the need to create a virtual HIV/AIDS information centre. AIDS.hr results from its cooperation with the web-team, which has proven itself with its work on the GAY.hr portal. It helped that Iskorak works with a vulnerable group � sexual and gender minorities � and has deep understanding of the problem of discrimination of persons with HIV/AIDS.
