Call for Proposals: Peace Rights Internet and Network Building
OneWorld Platform for Southeastern Europe, under its “Peace Rights Internet and Network Building” project, conducts trainings on Advocacy Journalism and Diversity Reporting for its Kosovo partners and non-partners.
aims – local content in local languages
The project aims to contribute to the empowerment of civil society in Kosovo and in Pejë/Pec in particular:
-
supporting volunteers and activists in usage of internet for exchange of information,
-
supporting as such the dialogue between different actors,
-
supporting participation/monitoring of decision-making
-
contributing in network-building.
It also aims to create a bilingual curriculum which, having internet as a strategy tool, will promote the awareness around community media, thus supporting 30 activists from associations in Pejë/Pec and Kosovo wide as well as to make them aware of internet as a powerful medium for advocacy and dialogue between national groups.
The project will support development of a local networking system with young activists from local NGO’s, paying special attention to dialogue between national groups on information/communication, through supporting advocacy journalism and gender sensitiveness.
recipients – skill transfer and empowerment
Recipients of this project will be individuals, activists, operators of youth associations from Pejë/Pec, Gorazhdec/Gorazhdevac village and from Kosovo wide, but at least fifty percent of participants will come from Pejë/Pec town.
Selection will be open for the entire Kosovo organizations, while special attention will ne paid to owpsee partner associations and the ones cooperating with Tavolo Trentino per Il Kosovo.
All interested associations to take part, will be subjected to a short questionnaire and will be requested to prepare a presentation file.
The first two trainings will include 12 participants each with groups of different nationalities. Organizations will be asked to sign a trust agreement stating the organizational relation with the training participants, being a volunteer, a staff...
Selection will be done in an open transparent way
All the training activities will be conducted within the “Zoom” Center.
methodology – localization of knowledge
The methodology used for training modules is of participatory type, therefore it has been foreseen to have participation of women and youth associations and turn them into direct actors in information producing through providing them a series of internet tools, audio and video for promotion of their respective campaigns.
gender (beyond 8th of march)
The focus on gender topic has been chosen as an indirect problem that overlaps the entire daily life of organizations and the greatest reason for presentation in mainstream media of women, a very important subject for the entire Balkan region and Kosovar one in particular.
Trainings will be conducted by the owpsee trainers: Valentina Pellizzer and Predrag Vostinic (curriculum to be attached).
Schedule
1st training will be organized between 18, 19, 20, 21 April 2007, the second 23, 24, 25, 26 April 2007, while the third training with 6 selected participants will be organized from 23 to 27 May 2007.
Trainings will be conducted in two languages; Albanian and Serbo-Croatian
