"Art against prejudice": Council of Europe Roma festival in Tirana

Art Against Predudice Just before International Roma Day - to be celebrated on 8 April - the Council of Europe and the European Commission will organize a regional arts festival for the Roma, "Art against prejudice " at the International Culture Centre of Tirana, April 5-7. Artistic celebrities of Southeastern Europe, such as Muharem Serbezovski, the Silvi Duo Band, Muharem Ahmeti and Tehemana will perform from 19.00 to 21.00 each evening of the festival at the Odeon. At the same time, ongoing photography, arts and crafts exhibitions will be on display. Organised in cooperation with the Albanian Ministry of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Sports, the festival will also feature two round tables bringing together NGO, government and Roma representatives: "The role of art, culture and Roma identity for integration and intercultural dialogue" and "The contribution of Roma culture to European culture." The festival falls within the framework of the Council of Europe/European Commission campaign "Dosta!: Go beyond prejudice, discover the Roma."
