TM Presents its First Monthly Report on Fight Against Corruption

Transparency Macedonia presented, on March 3, 2007, its report on the fight against corruption and improved transparency of work of state bodies, social and political institutions in Macedonia, for the month of April 2007.

In the report, Transparency Macedonia emphasizes the lack of transparence in public funds spending and the implementation of media campaign on which the Government is yet to report to the public, the violations of the laws regarding the application of �detention� by investigative bodies, as well as the violation of the principle of legitimacy in the work of the Judicial Council.

Transparency Macedonia plans this to be the first of the regular monthly reports on the fight against corruption and improved transparency in Macedonia. In the monthly reports, TM will warn about the irregularities and violations of procedures in implementation of public policies and public spendin in the country.

This continued and objective instrument for monitoring of situation regarding transparency and fight against crime and corruption is envisioned as TM�s contribution to social reforms in Macedonia.
