CPEP: Euro-Atlantic Integrations Have no Alternatives

The Centre for Politics and Euro-Atlantic Partnership from Novi Sad condemns the synchronized efforts of leadership of the Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) to use anti-Euro-Atlantic rhetoric to face the citizens of Serbia with a fake choice: Euro-Atlantic or Pan-Slavic integrations.
»The Euro-Atlantic integrations have no alternatives for Serbia: global partnership is a necessity. The illusion of fake sovereignty and self-sufficiency are spent, but still dangerous political messages sent out by Serbian elites«, says CPEP, worried over the fact that the defamation views presented by DSS receive direct or implicit support by almost all relevant actors in Serbian political and public life. The accession to the Partnership for Peace programme and later NATO, gives Serbia a chance to take responsibility for improved stability and security of the region and define its own security identity, believes CPEP. Therefore, CPEP demands from all relevant political entities in Serbia to reaffirm the defined foreign policy priorities and take the necessary actions to timely eliminate the negative consequences of political statements that ultimately lead Serbia into self-isolation. |
