Recent years marked the growing visibility of the youth employment issue on the global development agenda. That trend has been caused by the growing absolute numbers of young people on the planet and the rising unemployment rates.
Risto Karajkov, post-graduate student in Social Development at the University of Bologna and holder of a Masters Degree in Local Development from the University of Trento, prepared this guide as his contribution to the debate on the problem of youth unemployment in the Balkans.
The text was written as a project work within the Master Programme on Local Development for the Balkans 2003/04 at the University of Trento, Italy.
