About 300,000 People Live Below the Poverty Line

About 300,000 people in Kosovo live in utmost poverty, and the province remains the poorest region in Western Balkans, finds the survey conducted by the UN, prepared for the International Day for Eradication of Poverty, marked in the world last Wednesday.

According to the report, every other citizen in Kosovo believes that unemployment and poverty remain the most important problem in Kosovo.

According to the World Bank, 14% of Kosovo’s citizens live below the poverty line, and one in ten citizens goes to bed hungry, says Frode Mauring, the head of UNDP.
