Victims of Mayor Bandic Get a Square

Last Saturday, October 20, the activists of Zelena Akcija and Right to a City renamed the Petar Preradovic Square in Zagreb into the Square of Victims of Milan Bandic (the Mayor of Zagreb).

The citizens, victims of Mayor Bandic policies from Kupska, Galjufova, Varsavska, Erdodijeva and Horvacanska streets; Floral Square and Trnje, Vrbani III, Travno and Borovje boroughs were present at the renaming ceremony.

The decision on the new name was adopted by the Renaming Committee which includes as its members: Mirjana Krizmanić, Sa�a Poljanec-Borić, Mladen �kreblin, Frano Dulibić, Ur�a Raukar, Zvonko Maković, Vilim Matula, Vjeran Zuppa, Vera Petrinjak �imek and Teodor Celakoski.

�We believe that the victims of Mayor�s systemic policies of ruthless exploitation of the city deserve the honour to have the most beautiful square in Zagreb named after them�, says the Committee�s conclusion.
