The World Conference of Inter-Religious Dialogue was concluded yesterday in Ohrid, with the adoption of a Declaration for Improved Dialogue and Mutual Understanding of Faiths and Civilizations.

The participants, representing 50 countries from all over the world, condemned all forms of religious violence and all religions and faiths promoting terror and violence.
- It is only through a wide inter-civilization cooperation based on the principles of mutual respect and recognition can we contribute to creation of conditions for mutual understanding – states the Declaration.
The participants emphasized the importance of such gatherings in which followers of various faiths and teachings talk in teh language of love, tolerance and respect.
The Declaration underlines the importance of education, one of the pillars in the creation of persons led by ethical principles, as well as the dedication to creation of a system of education that promotes tolerance and peaceful coexistence and renounces hatred and prejudice.
The Document will be presented to the UN General Assembly, the Council of Europe and OSCE, as well as other international organizations and governments of individual UN member states.
The Conference also appointed the organizing board that will organize the next conference in 2010, also in Ohrid.
