Cesi Steps Out of the Croatian Women Network
|
The Cesi association decided to step out of the Croatian Women Network, listing as main reason the repeated non-feminist practices of the CWN coordinator to make decisions and public appearances without prior consultations with the members of the Network.
According to Cesi, there were several cases of such approach by the coordinator over the past several months: the printing of the Network Report without allowing insight into the final version to the members of the network; the press-conference organized together with the Women Infoteka on the case of Gender Equality Office (VURS); the printing of pre-election leaflet without providing insight into the final version that went to the press; and the latest public appearance regarding the lawsuit against VURS. Cesi also believes that the coordinator handled the information on the “fall of the Law on Equality” rather inappropriately. - She presented it as a fait accompli at the Network Assembly and explained that we have no Women Ombudsperson or Gender Equality Office and that we have to deal with this issue during the election campaign activities. It was then suggested that we should not yet use that information, since it was not officially announced, only to see that very information on CWN’s election leaflet, says Cesi. Cesi hopes and remains open for any cooperation with the groups that a members of the Network. |
