Election Campaign in Pejë Region Without Incidents

During the ten first days of the 2007 Election Campaign in the region of Pejë – Klina, Deçan and Istog, the Democracy in Action monitoring coalition hasn’t registered any incidents.
According to Veton Mujaj, the leader of Syri i Vizionit NGO, which leads the coalition activities for Pejë region, the monitoring shows that the political parties and candidates running in Mayoral and municipal council elections have adhered to the democratic spirit and observed the campaign regulations. “We haven’t noted any incident whatsoever, or usage of hate-speech in the rallies and campaign activities in the four municipalities in the Pejë region,” said Mujaj yesterday. Mujaj adds that the campaign is organized at a much higher level than in previous elections, while political parties offer advanced programmes. In his view, the campaign of the past tend days is presenting the Kosovars in a great light, distinguished as the best in the region by the international community. |
