Yes to EU – No to NATO

The majority of the citizens of Serbia supports the country’s integration into the EU, but not joining NATO, shows the public opinion survey conducted by Politicum Public Opinion Research Agency, presented recently at the Tanjug’s International Press centre.

Serbia’s entry into the EU was supported by 71.55 percent of the polled, with NATO membership enjoying the support of 26.2 percent of the population. Six out of ten citizens (60.71%) oppose the membership in NATO.

Slobodan Miladinovic, Politicum general manager, said to the press that 59.31 percent of the polled supported strongest possible relations with Russia, with 25.3 percent against.

The survey was conducted in September and October this year, on a sample of 1,300 persons from all parts of Serbia, excluding Kosovo and Metohija. The survey was ordered by the Ministry for Kosovo and Metohija.
