MANS: Release the Official Phone Numbers of Members of Parliament

Network for Affirmation of the Non-governmental Sector - MANS

The Network for Affirmation of NGO Sector MANS demanded for the internet site of Montenegro Parliament to publish the numbers of official mobile phones of the Members of Parliament.

MANS also demands the monthly updated release of the bills of each individual MP. The Administrative Committee already decided that the Skupstina will cover MP`s phone bills to the amount of 100 EUR.

The organization also notes that the previously used excuse by some MPs that the public release of this information may infringe on their privacy doesn�t really apply.

- These are not privately owned phones, but officially issued numbers paid by the tax-payers in Montenegro. Therefore, the tax-payers have the right to know the phones of their elected representatives, states MANS letter to Milan Radovic, the Parliament General Secretary.
