Round-Table Discussion on EU Energy Policy

Last Friday, March 28, Zelena Akcija environmental organization organized a round-table discussion on the topic of News on Climate and Energy Policy in the European Union.
The opening remarks were given by Toni Vidan, Head of Zelena Akcija`s Energy and Climate Changes Programme, while Lidija Živičič from Slovenian Focus – Sustainable Development Association presented the latest developments in EU climate and energy policies, with emphasis on the results of Slovenian Presidency of the Union. Dunja Farljević from UNDP Croatia presented the Project for Promotion of Energy Efficiency in Croatia, implemented in cooperation with Ministry of Economy and Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund, and emphasized the good cooperation with the local self-government units. Siniša Ozimec from the Ministry of Environmental Protection presented the work of the Ministry on creation and implementation of legal solutions, with special note to the ongoing work on the registry of green-house gas emissions. The roundtable discussion was organized uner the «Implementing Arhus Convention and Increasing NGOs capacity in monitoring and implementation of accession process and reaching EU environmental policies and standards« project, financed by the European Commission’s CARDS 2004 Programme. |
