IZ.RS Domain Offered for Free Registration

The DataVoyage company from Užice, Serbia, annoucnes that is secured, in cooperation with FreeDNS, free-of-charge registration on the iz.rs domain, as a form of protest against the manner of organization of national domain and the unrealistically high registration fees.
The registration of the new national domain .rs started official on March 10, and covers all web-addresses that held the former .yu (co.yu, org.yu, edu.yu and in.yu) extention. The National Internet Domain Registry of Serbia (RNIDS) accepted applications until February 29. Unlike those domains, the registration of iz.rs domain is free of charge, because it functions as an independent services outside of RNIDS system (though the name is, in fact, registered with RNIDS). The registration is totally free-of-charge and no documents are necessary to complete the registration. The procedure is automatic and can be don online, in just a couple of minutes. The domain is functional immediately. This service is almost completely based on free-of-charge services available online, as an example how public domains can be accessible and free.
