TM Demands Dissolution of the Anti-Corruption Commission
|
The Transparency Macedonia demands for the State Commission for Prevention of Corruption to be dissolved because of its omission to act in a number of corruption scandals, such as the sale of Negotino power plant, the sale of the land behind the Ramstore Mall in Skopje, the suspect procurements of computers, medicines and other medical equipment.
TM believes that the Anti-Corruption Commission fully failed to pursue its legally prescribed activities, lost credibility and capacity to have any real effect in terms of prevention of corruption. - This Commission is in constant violation of the Law on Prevention of Corruption, comments TM and proposed to the Parliament to return the report to the Commission and seek responsibility from its members, including removal from office. TM lists the cases of spending of millions of Denars from the State Budget, money collected from Macedonian tax-payers, on suspect and senseless public relations campaigns by the Government and its ministries, in spite of serious suspicions regarding legality of such expenditures. |
