EKOTIM Marks Earth Day
The Ekotim environmental association, in cooperation with Cantonal Communal Public Enterprise `RAD` and Student eFM Radio, marked the April 22, Earth Day, with a tree-planting action in the yard of `Edhem Mulabdić` elementary school in Sarajevo, the winner of the competition in collection of waste.

During the action, a total of 15 trees were planted, together with a number of decorative bushes, rosebushes and other flowers, provided through the project and donated by KJKP `RAD`.
`Edhem Mulabdić` Elementary earned the win in the competition by managing to collect 36 containers of paper and 16 containers of PET packaging, beating in the process the second-ranked `Meša Selimović` Elementary and the third-ranked `Aleksa Šantić` elementary school.
Under the auspices of the project, over 10,000 leaflets and 1,000 CD`s with the Reciclograd (RecycleCity) educational video game were distributed, and new stations for separation of waste were installed in Vojničko polje neighbourhood in Sarajevo.
Over the coming period, another 5,000 leaflets and 1,000 brochures will be distributed, aiming to raise the public awareness about the need to recycle and reduce the produced waste, as a contemporary waste management system.
