The Novi Pazar Initiative for Change, a group of several local organizations and branches of national organizations, expressed, in an open letter to President Boris Tadić, their discontent with his decision to invite Sulejman Ugljanin and his SDA into the coalition that could make the new parliamentary and Government coalition.
-We see your invitation to Ugljanin as a slap in the face of all citizens of Novi Pazar who gave their votes to the Za evropsku Srbiju - Boris Tadić Coalition (For European Serbia – Boris Tadic), both in the Parliamentary and Local Elections in Novi Sad, says the Initiative.
It adds that the 23,000 votes that Tadic`s coalition ZES got in Novi Pazar were result, above all, of the dissatisfaction with Ugljanin`s governance in Novi Pazar, marked with huge embezzlements of the Municipal Budgets, with millions siphoned into private hands; intimidation and physical attacks on the political opposition; bans for citizens to enter the Municipal Building and to reporters and journalists to do their job.
The Initiative for Change also points out to the discontent with the work of SDA`s MPs Bajram Omeragić and Esad Džudžević who, they say, not only fraternized with the radicals in the Skupština, but failed to bring about any benefit or improve the lives of the Bosniaks and the other citizens of Sandjak.
The Novi Pazar organizations remind Tadic of the fact that Uglanin said, immediately after the elections, that he and his coalition refuse any cooperation with ZES because of `two obstacles - Vuk Drašković and Rasim Ljajić.
-Does your invitation mean that you will give up on your coalition partners just to start cooperation with Ugljanin? Are you truly prepared to jeopardize Serbian progress to Europe because of such parners?, asks the Initiative for Change, reminding the President that they asked for a meeting with him several months ago, but have not received any response, yet.
