A variety of international governmental and non-governmental organizations, individual governments and foundation have been seemingly pouring money into the economic and democratic development of the region.

In a series of articles, originally written for Osservatorio sui Balcani, Karajkov dissects the issue, pointing out at the positive and negative aspects of foreign aid as experienced in the Balkans.
