New Internet Magazine for LGBTQ Population Launched

A group of gay internet users noted that the Croatian internet space lacks a common starting point for homosexual men and women, bisexual, trans-gender and queer persons to get information and to get active, so they decided to launch a new internet portal to mark the Pride Week in Zagreb.

The portal is located at www.lgbtiq.net, a web2.0 platform, and all users will have the opportunity to express their opinions as civic journalists and reporters. The portal plans to offer a number of interactive services, competitions and reviews, all created with the help from the community.

`We want to open the web to the people to express in their preferred way – photography, illustration, report, comment`, says the Portal.

The editors admit that they have the impression that Croatian gay community put too much of an emphasis on criticism of society, without offering adequate space to express diversity in a constructive way.
