Mjaft: Berisha refuses to reply!

The Mjaft Movement reports that, in spite of repeated attempts to contact the office of Prime Minister, there have been no reaction so far to the demands of the striking workers of Gerdec, who continued their two-week hunger strike with protests in the park next to the PM`s office.

`Berisha has refused to meet with the representatives of former employees at Gerdec Ammunitions Depot, in spite of the fact that he pretends to be the man of the people, his phone constantly open for communication to the citizens`, says Mjaft.

Mjaft! Movement, together with other citizens, supports the strikers, showing solidarity for their demands for improved methods and approach to distribution of funds for reconstruction of the village of Gerdec, which was flattened by the huge explosion in the depot on March 15, 2008. The striking workers were also visited by representatives of Albanian opposition parties, who expressed their support.

The strikers were forced to stand all day in the rain after the Police refused to issue permission for them to set up a tent in the park. Mjaft made several appeals to the authorities to secure an ambulance vehicle and a medical team to be on site, having in mind that the strikers are exhausted after the long hunger strike.

`Mjaft! will remain with the strikers until the end of the strike, fighting for the demands of the strikers to not remain in the shadows`, says the Movement.

For more details about the demands, see this article published on Mjaft website.
