|
In its efforts to support the recognizable model of post-conflict education that is taught at UWCiM, Czech Republic Ministry of Foreign Affairs donated books to broaden and enrich process of learning for 200 UWCiM`s students from all around the world. Thanks to the donation United World College in Mostar will begin next school year offering 129 new valuable books to its students and teachers.
The donation worth 5.000 USD in total will contribute to the history and anthropology curriculum, while the text-books about the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme will be an exceptional help to the development of educational methods of work at the UWCiM. “It is always a difficult task for a new school to quickly build up resource materials, textbooks and library books, so this donation is both helpful and generous”, said Paul Regan, UWCiM`s head teacher. “Integrated educational program, professional training of BiH teachers and students of all national and religious backgrounds, represent a great added value to the education system in BiH. One of the main focuses of our embassy is education, and I believe that we will continue our cooperation successfully in the future,“ said Jiří Kuděla, ambassador of the Czech Republic in BiH. Head teacher Regan also stressed out the fact that this precious contribution also coincides with the completion of works on the new library that will be at the disposal to all students. “On behalf of the College I am very grateful for the donation of books,” he said. |
