Hoto Group to Tear Down the Printing Office on Floral Square
The Pravo na grad (Right to a City) Initiative and Zelena akcija environmental association claim they have learnt from trusted sources that the Hoto Group intends to start demolition of the building of the old printing company on Preradovic Square 6 on August 1.
They add that this makes it clear that Tomislav Horvatinčić`s announcement (Horvatinčić owns the Hoto Group) that he pulls out of the project to build a Hoto Centre on the location were designed to mislead the public and the citizens of Zagreb.
`We point out that the Hoto Group lacks the proper location or construction permit, but have decided to use the opportunity offered by the summer season, with most citizens away on holidays and public attention is at a low, to start the works on the project`, comment the two associations.
Pravo na Grad and Zelena akcija add that the corporation didn`t receive approval from any competent administrative body involved in the procedure, which leads to the conclusion that the investor expects to get the necessary permits by August 1.
They also point out the fact that Hoto lacks permissions necessary to conduct works on relocation of the telephone switchboard located in the printing press building that serves 1,600 users.
`The Hoto Group has not given up on the project. Furthermore, it decided to use the quite summer season to engage in serious violations of regulations and start demolition works and the project without the proper construction permits`, conclude the organizations.
