GPK Criticizes Government Stand on Environment

The Green Party of Kosova (GPK) criticizes Kosovo institutions` positions on environmental protection and their indifferent view of environmental problems.

Green Party of Kosova comments that the Government hasn`t been able to solve the problem of disulphuric acid at the `Trepça` industrial park in Mitrovica and has chosen a method of removal of the tanker trucks filled with the acid that is potentially dangerous and not secure enough.

The shipment of 70 tons of disulphuric acid arrived from Iran via Turkey, Bulgaria, and Macedonia, two months ago. A series of protests by civil society organizations and citizens have been organized in Mitrovica over the past several weeks, requiring removal of acid threat from Trepça.
