Foundation

OneWorld International Foundation is the guardian of OneWorld's vision - of a world where resources are shared fairly and sustainably, where human rights are nurtured and protected, and where democratic governance structures enable people to shape their own lives. OneWorld is dedicated to working with others to bring about this vision.

OneWorld International Foundation guides the direction of the OneWorld network in its mission to harness the democratic potential of the internet to promote sustainable development and human rights. It sets out the overall aims and values of the OneWorld network and oversees their adherence.

OneWorld International Foundation was inaugurated in December 1999. It is the home of the international Board of Trustees, the governing body of the whole of the OneWorld network. The Board is composed democratically of trustees nominated (one per centre) by the network's centres around the world. There are currently eleven OneWorld centres. They are located in Amsterdam (Netherlands), Barcelona (Spain), Helsinki (Finland), London (UK), Lusaka (Zambia), Montr�al (Canada), New Delhi (India), San Jos�, (Costa Rica), Trento (Italy), Vienna (Austria) and Washington (USA).

OneWorld International Foundation wholly owns OneWorld International Ltd., a not-for-profit company carrying out the day-to-day support and co-ordination of the work of the network of OneWorld centres. OneWorld International also undertakes production contracts for other organisations wishing to leverage the internet for sustainable development and human rights.
