Youth NGO Forum for Southeast Europe to begin in November

The Regional Youth Center for Information and Documentation in South Eastern Europe and its partners in Albania, Slovenia, Montenegro, and Romania recently published a call for application - which was distributed to NGOs and young people throughout South East Europe (SEE) - to participate in the forthcoming Youth NGO Forum. The Youth NGO Forum will be held on the last week of November 2002 in Timisoara, Romania.

The Forum is to gather the majority of the organizations from the network to set up direct contact, discussions and presentation of activities. The first edition of the forum will create the basis for common projects and will provide the chance for NGOs to directly expose the issues they are confronted with at regional level. The main task of this type of initiative is to create connections and partnerships among youth NGOs.

The organizers plan to realize a range of different workshops on topics such as: lack of youngsters social involvement and combating strategies; governmental/non-governmental partnership in the youth sector; prevention of social exclusion of young people coming from unprivileged areas; instability factors in the region from the young inhabitant’s perspective.
The participants will be able to share their experience in direct contact with other NGOs present in the Forum, but also to present their work in front of the main actors of the youth field and financers of the region and to contribute to the outcome of the forum through workshops on different themes.

A small exhibition of youth NGOs materials will be available in order to provide a better presentation of the respective activities.
The working language of the Forum will English and no translation will be available.
