On the occasion of the celebration of May 9, Victory Day, Nada Sevo, Mayor of Prijedor, organized a reception for the members of the National Liberation Struggle (NOB) – decorated with the Memorial Plaque.

President of Association of Fighters of the NOB of the Republic of Srpska, Blagoja Gajic, said that 23 World War II veterans with Memorial Plaque Decoration live in Prijedor, out of the 374 in RS. He also mentioned the wide-spread negative attitude towards the NOB heritage and the lack of proper care for the Partizan memorials and monuments.

They asked Mayor Sevo to accelerate the initiatives for the memorial for 32 partisan fighters that were killed on May 16, 1942, during the first liberation of Prijedor, and to intervene to complete the renovation of the house of National Hero dr. Mladen Stojanovic.

In addition to the reception, the Victory Day was marked with a wreath-laying ceremony on the Partisan Cemetery in Urije.
