Several thousand citizens, led by the members of DAN daily’s editorial office dressed in black, with the logo on the paper and big targets printed on their t-shirts, participated in the protest walk from the Republic Square to the “13 Jul” street on Sunday. The walk was concluded at the site of the assassination of Dusko Jovanovic, General Manager and Editor-in-chief of DAN, who was killed in a drive-by shooting last Thursday.

The procession started in the Republic Square at 19:30, passed by the Parliament Building, the Office of the President of the Republic and the Government. When the column reached the Government building, the participants shouted “Milo (Djukanovic, the Prime Minister), You murderer!”

The protest walk was organized by the leaders of the Montenegrin political opposition, who carried a banner that read “In Memoriam – Dusko Jovanovic.”

After the short stop at the Government building, the column started towards the place of the assassination. Members of Jovanovic’s family, and then the other participants lit candles and laid wreaths of flower at the site.

In the meantime, the Montenegro Police released the information that a VolksWagen “Golf 3” was found with two AK-47 (Kalashnikov) automatic rifles inside it. The Police believes that the vehicle and the weapons were used in the assassination. The investigation continues, and the authorities have offered an award of up to 1,000,000 Euro for any information that could lead to the arrests of the perpetrators and inspirers of the crime.
