BOSNIA

International Council of Voluntary Agencies Bosnia and Herzegovina
ICVA’s aim is strengthening the non-governmental sector in BiH through providing support to NGOs in: information-sharing and production of information sources; developing policies on issues relevant to NGO sector in BiH; advocacy towards governments, international organisations, UN and other stakeholders.

UN Volunteers Bosnia & Herzegovina
The United Nations Volunteers programme (UNV) is the UN organization that supports human development globally by promoting volunteerism and by mobilizing volunteers. It is administered by UNDP and operates amidst growing recognition that volunteerism makes important contributions, economically and socially, to more cohesive societies by building trust and reciprocity among citizens. Every year some 5,000 UN Volunteers from more than 150 different nationalities actively support the programmes of the United Nations itself and almost all UN funds, programmes and specialized agencies.

Mladi Most – Mostar
Young people play a major role in influencing the future of Mostar. It is still unclear whether they will continue the confrontations of the past or will strive to change the current political and social divisions. If Mostar is to have a better future, its major problems like unemployment, the widespread apathy and lack of motivation here have to be overcome.

Centar Mladih Livno
Youth Centre Livno (CMl) is a non-governmental, non-partisan and non-profit organization, established in 2000. CML provides an opportunity to the young population to take active participation in the social life of the community through activities in: environmental protection; culture and sports; informal education; and, promotion of voluntarism.

SERBIA AND MONTENEGRO

Volonterski centar Vojvodine
In January 2004., on the initiative of Pokret gorana Vojvodine and Youth Council of Vojvodina, Volunteer center of Vojvodina has been founded. The basic idea is optimal awakening of awarenness about volonteerism and altruistic thoughts among generation of young people through determined activities, ie. volonteer work. Volunteer center of Vojvodina become partner in three world networks for exchange of volunteers: Service Civil International, Alliance, South East European Youth Network i Youth Action for Peace. Except this networks, as a part of the Youth Council of Vojvodina, it is also a part of South East Europe Youth Network.

VelikiMali Initiative
Considering the world's statistics on children with special needs and the existing capacities within the local community (institutions, programmes, laws, the economic situation and the current value system), we came to the conclusion that a great number of children with special needs, together with their families, is in a very difficult position and often living isolated in their homes. With the aim to improve the quality of life of children with special needs and their families, to promote and develop a new, different approach, a group of young professionals in different fields in July 1999 started a project as a part of NGO ”Pancevo Peace Movement,” and in April 2000, the NGO GreatLittle was officially registered.

Volunteer Centre of the Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization
EHO is a church-related humanitarian organization that provides assistance to a vast number of refugees, internally displaced people (IDPs), the poor, elderly, ill, unemployed, and children all over Vojvodina (the northern province of Serbia-Montenegro). This assistance is offered regardless of religious, ethnic, national or any other backgrounds and is provided through material aid distribution, organization and implementation of various educational and developmental programs. Volonteer center has developed cooperation with a number of NGOs, started an initiative and cooperation with state institutions in Novi Sad, organized seminars for volonteers and give an opportunity to them to attend other seminars and courses that they are interested in.


Novi Sad Women Centre
Basic activities of the Center are promotion, protection and improvement of women`s human rights, the economic development of women, the development of consciousness about the rights to life without violence and possibilities of finding the way out of situation of violence, social and mental help to mothers, including education on raising children in multiethnic communitiess.


DAH Theatre Research Centre
Dah Theatre was formed in June 1991 out of the need for profound experimental work. In 1993 Dah Theatre enlarged its activities by forming the Theatre Research Centre with an ongoing program of workshops, lectures, seminars, guest performances and festivals. The work of the Centre is geared toward a constant exchange of knowledge, experience and ideas among artists and theatre professionals from different theatrical and national traditions. The goal of the Dah Theatre Research Centre is a constant exchange of knowledge, experience and programs among artists and theatre professionals from different theatrical and national traditions. The artistic education of young people is another important goal, reflected in the ongoing programs of theatre and dance training, and many workshops by visiting artists and pedagogues.

ADP ZID
Volunteer center (VoC), within the Association for democratic prosperity – Zid, started working in May 2001. Volunteer center is a development project of the office for promotion and development of volunteerism in Montenegro and it started (what a coincidence) in the year of volunteerism. Although a very young offspring of ADP – Zid, VoC is a pretty healthy child, and you could say, pretty successful. We work, work, work and study, and we are proud of that…

ALBANIA

Albanian Youth Council (AYC)
AYC is one of the biggest youth organizations in Albania working since 1994 with young people and youth organizations in Albania. AYC is working as umbrella organization for around 85 youth NGOs in all over Albania

Young Intellectuals, Hope (IRSH)
IRSH is working in the development of civil society and promotion of Peace and Stability in Balkan. IRSH was founded in 1994 and is counting around 200 members, which are contributing as volunteers in different projects IRSH is promoting. IRSH is hosting every year volunteers from abroad and also a lot of young people from IRSH are going to be placed as volunteers in other organizations in Europe.

MACEDONIA

DEM is a non-governmental, non-profitable and apolitical association. It is a national association that includes 30 local environmental NGOs as full-members and 16 other organizations and institutions as associated members. It was established in 1990 as a necessity to coordinate the work of the existing local groups. DEM is a member of the Friends of the Earth - International (FoEI) and International Union for Conservation of Nature, at the same time develops cooperation and communication with many neighbors' NGOs.


MOST
MOST, as domestic observer of the electoral process, is aiming to raise the public awareness of the meaning of the elections and stimulate citizens’ active participation in the election process. For these activities MOST recruited and instructed 3000 volunteers of all ethnical structure and nationality, and succeed in deploying observers on 60% of the polling stations, at the last Presidential elections 2004.

Youth Forum EYE Volunteer Network
Dynamic organization of young people, who have bright ideas about improving multiethnic and open society in Republic of Macedonia. YFE supports international 'youth exchange' programs, based on cooperation with European NGOs and the main objective is exchanging experiences, intercultural learning and bringing the idea of a united Europe to the young people which will improve the integration with European values.
YFE aims to inspire and help positive social and economic changes, and is dedicated toward efficient realization of those ideas.

Organization of Women of the Municipality of Sveti Nikole
The Organization of Women of the Municipality of Sveti Nikole was founded in 1990. The OWMSN is a non-governmental, non-partisan organization that works on the territory of the Sveti Nikole Municipality. In recent years, the organization has made efforts to establish cooperation with other women NGOs in Macedonia and became a member of voluntary network in Macedonia.

BalkanIDEA Skopje
BalkanIDEA Skopje is part of the initiative for establishing a National Network of NGOs that work on EU integration issues. The network role will be to help the process of integration of Republic of Macedonia into the EU, and accelerate it.
Roma community center DROM
DROM was formed by young Roma intellectuals in September 1997 in Kumanovo with the aim to protect the rights and the interests of Roma and to implement these rights in all spheres of socio- economic life.
DROM was established with the support of the Roma Participation Program of the Open Society Institute in Budapest. RCC DROM has implemented projects in a variety of fields, including the legal sphere (citizenship issues), education and inter- ethnic tolerance, infrastructure, ecology, human rights and health.
