Neretva River Cleaning Day on Friday, July 16
Under the preparations for the Opening Ceremony of the Rebuilt Old Bridge in Mostar, the City of Mostar, in cooperation with the OSCE Mission to B&H, will organize a volunteer action for cleaning of the Neretva River bed, which is currently littered. The litter and garbage are an unsuitable background for the beauty and the symbolism of the rebuilt bridge and the old quarters of the City.
“To Neretva” – the Day of Cleaning will be held on Friday, July 16, with the beginning at 9:00 hours. The letter of invitation to participate in the action was sent to more than hundred addresses, including government officials, Members of Parliament, the NGO sector, schools, which should contribute to the environmental awareness and strengthening of voluntarism in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The voluntary participation in the action will present a positive example and send a valuable good-will message to all citizens of Mostar.
The “To Neretva” cleaning action will take place along the river banks, on different locations, starting from the “Begic and Begovic” bridge to the north all the way to the Buna suburb to the south of the City.
