Apply With Documentaries Promoting Volunteering
The Youth Information Agency invites all interested parties to apply their short documentary films on the subject "Volunteering and Its Contribution to the Local Community" for the Albert Einstein Project. The films that apply should not be longer than seven minutes. The winning films (one each will be awarded from Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Montenegro, Albania, Macedonia, Romania and Bulgaria) will be awarded 1,000 EUR prize.

The winning films will be incorporated into a single documentary which will be shown in all seven countries that participate in the project - translated in seven languages. The deadline for application is August 8, 2004. The films must be recorded on Beta tapes, Mini DV or DVD.
Subject The Goal of the compiled documentary is to promote volunteering and different ways in which it can contribute to the local communities in the region. The subject of the entries may refer to the contribution of volunteering on local, national or regional levels. The films should cover one or more of the following activities: work camps, social work, humanitarian work, sports, reconstruction, environment, archaeology, health (HIV/AIDS, prevention of drug abuse), informal education, gender relationships, racism and discrimination, art, culture, public institutions and Governing.
Target groups and beneficiaries The priority in terms of the other target groups, should be given to local and national authorities. Who will be chosen as beneficiaries will depend on the area covered by teh project, so that there is not specific criteria in terms of the categories of beneficiaries.
The time frames and the location of implementation The length of the entries should be between five and seven minutes. The winning films for each countries will be selected after August 1, 2004. The film of the whole project, compiled from the seven winning films from the participating countries will be aired in the region, after the complition of the editing and subtitling in the seven languages.
