The 11.1-kilometre road between Vore and Fushe-Kruje, passing through the country's sole international airport Mother Teresa, near the capital, will be linked to Albania's key motorway linking Tirana and the country's largest northern town Shkoder.
The Tirana-Shkoder highway is expected to be completed in September with the construction of the road's final stretch between Lezhe and Shkoder. The 33.9-kilometres road worth 4.0 billion Albanian leks (32 million euro/$39.1 million) is almost half completed. By mid-September, the road's final stretch - the 19.4-kilometres northern road Ballder-Piraj-Vau e Dejes, estimated to cost some 2.65 billion leks, is to be constructed.
The 85-kilometres Tirana-Shkoder highway, which initially was 116 kilometres
long, is part of a north-south transport corridor crossing Albania.
