"Volunteering in Public Institutions" Project Activities Started

The first phase of the "Volunteering in Public Institutions" Project includes high school students volunteers in the public institutions "Protect Me" Centre, "Rada Vranjesevic" Orphanage, "Dr. Miroslav Zotovic" Rehabilitation Institution and the Social Geriatric Centre. Before they started volunteering, the volunteers received training in working with specific categories of users and introduction to the institutions in which they were to volunteer. The supervision of the volunteers will be conducted by social work students and the personnel of the host institutions. The development and realization of volunteer activities in these institutions should contribute to the quality of services offered by these institutions, but also provide for greater inclusion of users of these institutions in the local communities. The Project is implemented in partnership with the State Bureau of Education and the Union of Social Work Students. The Project is financed by the City of Banja Luka and the Independent Bureau for Humanitarian Issues (IBHI).
